Are you vision impaired, or do you know someone who is? Be My Guide lets you get live video
orientation and mobility assistance, from someone you know and trust, using your smartphone.
You simply invite a nominated helper to connect with you, and when theyve installed the app youll be able to video-call
them by pressing the Request Assistance button.
If you are not vision impaired but you wish to help someone you know, you can invite them to connect with you via the app.
Once theyve accepted the connection, theyll be able to video-call you when they need assistance.
When the Request Assistance button is pressed, your nominated helpers will be called in sequence until either one of them
answers or until they have all been tried. When a helper answers, a video link is established (after a few seconds) and
youll be able to show the helper your surroundings, so your helper can assist you with orientation.
Note: Be My Guide requires that you have access to a device which can receive SMS over the cellular network.
